HOW TO STOP OWNING GUILT AND SHAME

ARE YOU CONSTANTLY BLAMING YOURSELF FOR EVERYTHING?

IS A STATE OF GUILT AND SHAME YOUR DEFAULT?

I had this as my default for so many years. I remember walking home from a party on my 18th birthday wearing a hoodie for a punk band I liked. I was jumped by five lads who proceeded to, quite frankly, kick my head in.

I walked home a bloody mess, not my first fight but my first surprise assault. My Gran was shocked, “Ah I don’t worry I shouldn’t have been wearing the hoodie! Anyway….cake?”

Not the first fight I had blamed myself for, or the last, but the common theme was everything was my fault, always, no exceptions whether bloody face or just an everyday argument.

I had to stop being a constant victim, I had to become an OWNER of my life.

When we allow others to place guilt and shame on us we are handing over the power in our lives, we are saying “You now control how I feel”

When we become owners we hear the other person issue but we don’t get angry, we don’t get offended because their thoughts are not ours to deal with, they will not make us take on anything we do not need.

I want to work with you to start living as an OWNER of your life, take back the power and feel confident everyday.
